This week, June 29th, For Better or Worse, Single Parent Families and Our Father’s Heart community groups are serving in the children’s ministry.

Will community group participants be contacted prior to Sunday morning?

Everyone should be contacted but there is always a chance for someone to accidentally be missed along the way. We are sincerely sorry for that, but would be happy to field any questions you may have; please contact us at 470-2820 ext. 210 with any questions concerning SummerQuest.

Where do volunteers need to go on Sunday morning?

Everyone who is willing to serve our children and would like further instruction are invited to a rise-and-shine training breakfast at 8:15 a.m. in room 201/203. This will be an opportunity for volunteers to meet the lead teacher, learn how to connect with kids in their specific age group, and to give the opportunity to those who did not sign up when sign up sheets went around to connect with a class that morning. If you are unable to make the 8:15 a.m. meeting and you know what class you will be serving in you can go there at 9:00 a.m., but if you do not know where to go simply go to the Children’s Ministry Guest Registration Window and wait there to be placed in a classroom by a CM staff memeber.

Thank you to all who have served so far! The children thrive when they are around adults who are willing to invest in their lives and share the love of Jesus to them. Please contact us at 470-2820 ext. 210 with any questions concerning SummerQuest. Thank you!

Hello faithful readers,

God is truly amazing. This past month has been truly remarkable! The school year has come to a close and now the new year is beginning. In all the craziness of a summer transition, God has raised up amazing leaders and solidified relationships between teachers, parents and children from the past school year!

Personally, I have had to lean heavily on others due to health and typical life transitions, but relying on others has been surprisingly difficult. Someone pointed out to me that the coined phrase “God will never give you more than you can bear” is a false truth. At first I balked at this assertion, but after inquiring further the real truth came out–God will never give us more than He can bear! When things get incredibly hard it is amazing how free we can be when we release things to Him through prayer! Prayer is a life line of magnificent proportions! However, if we feel we can carry even a piece of the load on our own, we will be crushed. God is an all protecting and all supporting Father to those who rely fully on Him, and while this may seem easy to say, it is not easy to live out. Perhaps because we feel as adults that we need to represent strength and security to our families we miss the lesson children teach us by living moment by moment with a fragile vulnerability of faith and trust in others. We need to mirror the lesson children teach us with our relationship with God. When we live vulnerably before God and seek His will in all things only then can we see true growth in our relationship with Him and with others!

It is good to be back, and I hope to see many of you this Sunday, June 1st for the start of our SummerQuest program. Maybe you will get a chance if you are in preschool to meet my friend “Sam the Construction Man!”

SummerQuest is only a week or two away. It begins June 1 and will last until August 3. There are a few things that our families and children need to know. If you were in Kindergarten through 5th grade this school year you will be moving up to the next grade level classroom. All other nursery and preschool classes will not transition up until the beginning of the fall semester, which begins with our Open House on August 10.

Another important note is that we need media releases from families who are willing to let us use pictures of their children on our website, in the lobby, or in other future summer publications. These forms can either be found along with our parent packs by the rack by the guest registration window or they can be found under the “forms/calendar” tab on the Quest website. Another important form is the SummerQuest T-shirt order form. T-shirts are only $10 and they are truly amazing! Make sure to grab an order form as we will only be doing pre-orders this summer. Those forms can also be found by the rack by the guest registration window or they can be found under the “forms/calendar” tab on the Quest website.

We are looking forward to a great summer and hope that everyone closes out this school year with a bang! A map to further show how classrooms will be arranged can be found below by following the link:

The evening will go from 6:30-8:30pm. If you like Italian food (spaghetti, baked ziti, salad, and delectable bread) you need to make sure that you mark April 25 down on your calendars as a night to be at Fellowship Church. You will have a chance to look back and celebrate all that God has done through you and your brothers and sisters in Christ this past year! You have made a lasting impact on this up and coming generation of mini-super disciples for Jesus! Their quest for knowing Jesus may have just begun but together we have helped start them out on a great step in their journey. Thank you!
